Password input when connecting if left blank in profile

Hi,

Can you please add the feature where AndFTP asks for the password when connecting (in a separate dialog box) if the password field is left blank (and the username is not anonymous)?

I don't want to save the password to prevent someone from logging into my server if:
* I lose my phone.
* Leave my phone lying around where others might have access to it (say office desk), etc.

It's shouldn't affect people who don't care for this feature since if they allow login without passwords, the username is unlikely to be anything other than "anonymous".

1.0 RC7 with authentication prompt is now available:

login/password on device.
- Sort by name, size and date menu added.
- Cut/Copy/Paste support added for device browser.
- Simple list/List/Details views option added.

- Open file on device bug fixed.
- Recursive folders download bug fixed.
- Cupcake support.

Hi,

1.0RC7 seems to be broken. It fails to connect with the error "Binary XML file line #18: Error inflating class java.lang.reflect.Construtor".

The class name is approximate -- I sent an mail earlier today which had the right class name.

Uninstalling and reinstalling didn't help

Thanks for the report. When do you get this error ? Are you able to post here a photo or screenshot ? Are you using English or another language ? Finally, do you know which Android version you have ? Cupcake installed ? I see a similar issue in Android developer forum about Cupcake:

About authentication prompt:
You can fill in username and left password blank. In factn as soon as there is an authentication issue, AndFTP will pop-up. So you can always have the username filled in and available in the pop-up. Then you just need to fill in password.

Problem reproduced and fixed. It was a regression for cupcake support. I've rebuilding a RC8.
Please try it and let me know if it works now.

Problem fixed but "Cancel" button needs to cancel immediately instead of 3 or more retries.

The reason is that some server block the IP address after N failed attempts. In my case, N = 3.
